Saturday's SJ girls basketball results




   Anyssa Sanchez hit two key three-point plays to help lift the Sterling High School girls' basketball team to a 46-38 victory against Kingsway in a nonleague game Saturday.
   Sanchez finished her first three-point play to end the second quarter and give the Silver Knights a 26-24 lead going  into the half. The Dragons took the lead again in the third quarter, but it was Sanchez who hit another three-point play to give the Silver Knights the lead for good.
   Sanchez scored 13 of her 20 points in the second half, collected 11 rebounds and three steals. Tyra Satchell added 12 points, six assists, three steals and two blocks. Zoe Hahn led the Dragons with 12 points.

Haddon Heights 47, Clayton 22: Nadja Riggs led the Garnets with 18 points and Taylor Nichols added 13 in the win. The Garnets broke open the game with a 22-point third quarter. Taylor Reed led Clayton with eight points.


Cherokee 43, Moorestown 31: Maddie Etkins went 10-for-11 from the free-throw line and led her team with 14 points  in the win. Shaye McGoey added 13 points for the Chiefs, who trailed the Quakers by two points after the first quarter and dominated the second quarter 16-3. Tristan McGinley and Shannon Keeler each scored nine for the Quakers.

Haddonfield 54, Florence 34: Maddie Bettey led all scorers with 22 points, including two 3-pointers, for the Bulldawgs. Teammate Hayley Raymond added 11 while Lacey Olaff led the Flashes with 14.

Haddon Twp. 59, Lower Cape May 26: Sarah Getzinger produced a double-double for the Hawks with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Morgan Lenahan added 14 points and eight assists in the win.

Woodstown 36, West Deptford 32: Dallas Baldwin led all scorers with 15 points and teammate Tori Smick added 14 in the win. Woodstown led by one point at halftime and then outscored the Eagles 11-7  in the third quarter, making the difference in the game.

Prime Events Shootout
Central 52, Mainland 48: Alex Raring scored 22 points and collected 14 rebounds in the loss for the Mustangs. Mainland led 39-38 heading into the final quarter, but Central was able to outscore the team 14-9 to take the victory.

Sacred Heart 48, Egg Harbor Twp. 34: An 18-point third quarter helped lift the Lions to victory. Kennedy Johnson led all scorers with 24 points and added nine rebounds in the win. Teammate Mandy Buirch added 12 points and Eryn Reed led the Eagles with 11.

Rancocas Valley 36, Ocean City 31: The Red Devils took a 17-14 lead into halftime and were able to hold onto the win. Lauren Moses led her team with 10 points and nine rebounds while Julia Duggan led all scorers with 17 points, adding 10 boards, for No. 3 Ocean  City.
