Saturday's South Jersey Varsity Girls Basketball Results


   Gloucester Catholic 42, Clearview 26: Becky Pund scored seven of her 13 points in the final quarter to help lift the Rams past Clearview in the Crusaders Coaches versus Cancer Shootout at Delsea.
   Emily Lyons led the Rams, ranked No.  2 in the Courier-Post Top 10, with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. The victory improved the undefeated Rams' record to 12-0.


Middletown North 46, Delsea 44: Despite the loss, Taylor Christina led the Crusaders with 15 points, including two 3-pointers, and teammate Amanda Schmidt added 14 points, hitting three 3-pointers.

Gateway 33, ACIT 32: The Gators outscored the Red Hawks 17-10 in the second half en route to victory. Angel Villari led the Gators with 11 points and ACIT's Yasmeen Nelson led all scorers with 13.

Tri-County
Gloucester 68, GCIT 34: The Lions had three players hit double-digits in the victory. Madison McClintock led all scorers with 21 while Alisha Fox added 17 and Kylee Hirst had 16. Taylor Favinger led GCIT with 19 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Burlington County
Burlington City 39, New Egypt 37: The Blue Devils outscored New Egypt 15-8 in the final quarter to take the victory. Jada Atchinson and Courtney Davis each scored 12 points in the win. New Egypt's Bridgette Buckalew led all scorers with 24 points.

Nonleague
Cherokee 46, Southern 40: Jessica Woodard scored a career-high 21 points and Shaye McGoey added a career-high 10 in the win. Trailing by two points at the half, the Chiefs outscored Southern 19-6 in the third quarter to take control of the game and head to victory.

Lenape 49, Middle Twp. 33: The No. 8 Indians outscored Middle Township 22-9 in the final quarter to seal the win. Tayler Holmes led Lenape with 14 points, including four 3-pointers, while teammate Alexis Sears added 11. Lauryn Fields led Middle Township with 19 points, hitting five 3-pointers.

Schalick 53, Lindenwold 21: A 21-point third quarter lifted the Cougars to victory. Allissa Long led all scorers with 17 points for Schalick and teammate Nikki Adams added 13. Bola Karimu Onissema led the Lions with seven points and eight boards.

Hammonton 27, Overbrook 26: Paige Mortellite hit two free throws  with 10.4 seconds left in the game to lift the Blue Devils to victory. Farris Ellington led  Hammonton with 15 points while Joann Bodanza led the Rams with 14.

Haddon Heights 54, Camden Charter 31: An 18-point third quarter broke the game open for the Garnets. Nadja Riggs led the way for the Garnets with 24 points, including two 3-pointers and eight free throws. Brianna Chambers led Camden Charter with 15 points, including a 3-pointer.

Timber Creek 43, Collingswood 38 (2OT): The Panthers rallied from behind and scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. Timber Creek's Desiree Furbert was fouled when she hit a jumper at the end of the first overtime to send the game into a second overtime where Timber Creek outscored Collingswood 9-4. Fubert led the Chargers with 13 points while Ellie O'Neill led the Panthers with 14.

Atlantic City 53, Atlantic Christian 31: Sahara Lopez scored 15 of her 19 points in the first half for Atlantic City. Deaja Reynolds added 15 points in the win while ACIT's Kelsey Robinson scored 18.

Rutgers-Camden Tournament
Willingboro 59, William Penn 25: Micahaya Owens led all scorers with 17 points for the No. 4 Chimeras. Imani Stepney added 14 and Aaliyah Saud-Lewis scored 12 in the win.

Martin Luther King Showcase
Sacred Heart 64, Bishop McDevitt 51: Kennedy Johnson was named the tournament MVP with 19 points and 19 rebounds and Ciani Carter added 14 points and seven assists in the win. The Lions hit a total of six 3-pointers in the game and improved to 11-2.

Hoop Group Boardwalk Showdown
Rumson-Fair Haven 52, Holy Spirit 36: Trailing 37-31 with 6:04 remaining, the Spartans had difficulty keeping up with Rumson-Fair Haven and fell to 8-2. Gina Lewis led the Spartans with 17 points, going 5-for-6 from the line in the fourth quarter.

Cape-Atlantic
St. Joseph 39, Mainland 27: Shannon Metzler had 10 points and 14 rebounds and teammate Samantha Wetzel added 10 points and 10 boards in the win. Alex Raring led Mainland with 10 points and four steals.

Lower Cape May 37, Wildwood Catholic 33 (OT): Lauren Holden scored four of the team's five overtime points to help lead her team to victory. Holden finished the game with 16 points and teammate Maddie Gibson added 10. Wildwood Catholic was led by Katie McCallion's 10 points.
